Registration for the two 2015 Nicaragua Mission Trips is now open. The dates for the two trips are as follows:

Nicaragua Photography Mission Trip – August 16-23, 2015

Nicaragua Medical/Dental Mission Trip – October 18-25, 2015

On August 16 and again on October 18, 2015 a group of people will be traveling to Managua, Nicaragua for one of two very special projects. You could be part of one or maybe even both groups.

Photography Mission Project

The photography project is a rather unique in it’s focus. Rather than building a building or some other worthwhile endeavor, we will instead be taking student pictures and building a school yearbook for an elementary school with over 360 students. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere (second only to Haiti). The school, LifeLink International, is located in a very poor section of Managua. All of the students live locally and their education is funded by outside sources. While it may not seem that significant to people in North America, having a personal photo will be a treasure for them and their families. We will also be taking portraits of their families while we are there and will be able to do some other photography projects as well.

The primary skill set for this project calls for people with a more technical aptitude, particularly those familiar with digital photography and desktop publishing. Also needed will be those who are fluent in Spanish or good at organization and crowd-control.

Project Date: August 16-23, 2015

Project Cost: Details coming soon (last year’s cost was $1750)

Included in the price: airfare to/from Orlando, Florida, all food, ground transportation, travel insurance, accommodations and the costs of the project.

Medical/Dental Mission Project

The purpose of the medical/dental mission trip will be to focus on both the medical/dental needs of the students at LifeLink International (see link above) as well as the community health needs of a village near Cuidad Sandino, Nicaragua (a suburb of Managua). The project will be split evenly between two days on the campus of the school and two days in a remote Nicaraguan village. Medical supplies will be purchased in Nicaragua and are included in the cost of the project. The school has begun setting up a clinic on campus and they do have some limited medical equipment. Also needed for this project are those who are fluent in Spanish (especially medical terminology) and those who can help organize and keep records.

Project Date: October 18-25, 2015

Project Cost: Details coming soon (should be around $1700)

Included in the price: airfare to/from Orlando, Florida, all food, ground transportation, travel insurance, accommodations and the costs of the project.
